Nendaz FWQ 4* Star Event

Hello guys,

just came back from Nendaz Switzerland the last Tour Stopp in Europe pretty much. Well there is one more contest in the beginning of May in Roldal Norway, which I was planing to go to, but at the moment competing just sucks.

Nendaz is supposed to be biggest and exciting contest all year, everyboday is fired up about it. Lets talk about my point of view. The Nendaz freeride was definitly the worst organized comp I´ve ever been to. First of all there was no snow at all, we were riding moguls, okay everyone had to do it but it was so much hustle to get from one venue to the other. No one was just informed right...we didnt even got proper bibs and it was also the most expensive comp. of the year. So lets say it like that, I wasn´t pleased with the Nendaz Freeride at all.
I had two good runs but kinda crashed at the end of both of them. I stomped sick cliffs and tumbeld after i stomped them...pretty weird and really bad luck - at the moment luck is not my friend. Well I guess I need to work harder but after a season I with injuries troughout, I am still pretty happy. Next week we finally go just skiing and filming no competing anymore. True spirit, just go out there and have fun. I hope I stay healthy from now on....

Here is one of the runs from Nendaz, I skied again, fluid and fast and stomped all cliffs clean, but just dont have the right luck at the moment...but i´ll come back, I am staying positive.

I´ll keep u guys posted about Norway, actually I am pretty stoked to check out Norway, lets see how I feel, if I am fully recovered from all injuries I am ready to show the norwegians and the rest of the world how germans ski when they are healthy... :D

Till than everybody should try to enjoy life as much as possible.....our thoughts go to the people in Japan right now....

peace

El Dorado Freeride In Andorra & Barcelona

Hey,

Alora Andorra! ;) Was kinda the not specified motto of the trip. Just came back from Andorra and Spain the last week. Da Crew Christian Reichenberger his girlfriend Lisa Schmoelzl and myself met up with Patrick, Mel and Kata.
We flew into Barcelona last Tuesday, took a rental car and went straight up north towards Andorra and the Pyrenees cause it was dumping. The next morning we rode fresh powder! ridicoulous! At least about 30cm fresh untracked white gold.

Here is a short edit from what you guys missed! ;)

On Staurday was the competition. The Face hadn´t been ridden on so good conditions for everyone. I chose a speedy line with some jumps around 5-7m, stomped it all clean and went fast as I wanted but apparently it wasn´t what the Judges wanted to see! so no podium for me, hahha! The winner Richard Amacker went big ...so what do we learn if you wanna win go BIG! Fluidity and speed should be as important.....but I still had a good time and took a lot self confidence not crashing again.... :D

here is the contest run:

After the comp we had a nice party in the jacuzzi followed by sauna and a real good meal. I like Andorra! ;)
The girls went crazy we took second and third place. The Young Lisa Schmoelzl took second in her frist comp. with a solid and fluid line. Good job ;)
Mel Presslaber got third after not competing for a couple years....congrats here as well! ;)
At least the girls were killing it....

We spent the last two days in Barcelona. Unbelievable city. Nice people! Beautiful girls! Howdy! ;)
Beaches, Parks, around 18°C, sun what else do you need!
Here some impressions:

Arc de Triumphe

Orange Tree
Beach
Reichberg Jung ;)
Barcelona sunset

So you know now what I did last week.....hopefully more snow to come! see ya´ll! ;)

UVEX is new sponsor!

Just recieved my stuff from UVEX. They just started a new line called Core Range. The idea was to produce googles, helmets from freeskiers for freeskiers. The collection is pretty sick. I gona be skiing with the new products as soon as they are available! you can see the devloping story here:

can´t wait to get my hands on the Google 9, which is recon ready. A little display is integrated and gives you informations about, speed, height and mucj more...

You always wanted to use GPS, check your speed, track your budy, get real-time feedback of your jump or connect to your smartphone while you‘re on the slope? The new G.GL 9 recon ready combines everything you need for it and has a overall light weight and size with all onboard electronics.

Your displayed features:
TEMPERATURE, CHRONO, JUMP, VERTICAL ODOMETER, SPEED, ALTITUDE, DISTANCE, LOCATION.

so I guess, I am prepared for next season.... :D

Frau Holle we need some powder....please!

Powder in Italy

Hey everybody,

just came back from the Italy trip, was super cool and we actually really found some powder, unbelieveable! Met Christian Leischner our italian Team Rider, we talked about the future. Pretty sick I can tell you guys.....Alaska, B.C. , Powder, Heli just some splits about our conversation.... hahha :D

The contest was pretty good but I don´t really have a lot luck at the moment. ;) Stomped to big cliffs at the top went pretty fast in between and two smaller hits afterwards...on the bottom just a small air...but I missed the entry and the small cliff ended up into a 10m clff into flat, I jumped it anyways but couldn´t really somp it and lost a ski....I guess the luck will come back....afterwards we went to innsbruck and partied hard.....like real hard... :D I hardly can remember! haha maybe some locals will....

Tomorrow big trip is coming up. We fly to Barcelona and drive to Andorra to ski there for the weekend, I hope to find some luck and hopefully stomp all my landings this time....

pics from the trip will come.....apparently its snowing in Andorra....thumbs up!

ISPO

I just came back from the ISPO. checkout Blizzard new Freeride Big Mountain skis. They are sick. Check the vids....

Big Mountain Contest Hochfügen

Hey guys,

I was so stoked about my line in Hochfügen on Saturday, and I was definitley looking to long for it to turn it down. The double stager I took was in a part where the slope was easy over 50° but I went for it anyways. I was hoping that it might end up good and I can get a high score, but the landing after the second jump was just not steep enough.

I would say I pretty much crashed down from 15m. Unfortenately my helmet cam stopped working just before the jump. ;(

But I have a video anyways. hope I get more luck next time. see you guys soon!

SOS Team Alpz

Finally my ankle is feeling better! It´s not 100% yet and I still feel it while riding but at least I am riding again ;). The SOS Team ALPZ met last weekend to shoot our first episode. It was super cool to meet all the guys finally. We decided to go to Schruns/Hochjoch in Austria Simon´s homespot. The snow was actually really nice and we could shred some good lines. A scary moment also when Max (one of the Teamriders) triggered and avalance, but luckily nothing happend and we all could enjoy our day. A little edit is down low. On friday I will be on my way to Hochfügen to start finally my contest season. I am super stoked and happy to be part of the circus again. ;) so ski safe and enjoy being out there.... :)

see you guys soon....

Finally I am back on my skis.... :D

Finally I am back on skis. After now more than 2,5 weeks my ankle is just fine enough to ride again. Luckily the last two weeks have been really bad snow wise so I didn´t missed out too much. I missed out La Clusaz, this years opener for the FWQ Series but I am over it now and happy to ski again. Next week is a new chance, I am going to start in Hochfügen, the famous " Ostwand" = Eastwall is going to be the contest venue! super stoked about that!

The last weekend I was in Obergurl/Hochgurgl, we had some good snow but really harsch weather conditions. Tempertature was around minus 15, wind and lots of fogg, but I still had a good time being back on my skis. I have edited a little video for all the guys from the test! check it out!

There is also our first shooting on sunday for SOS - Sportswear of sweden, were we editing a videoblog this year with about 4-6 Episodes! The first is definetly going to be online around the ISPO (international ski convention in munich)!
wish you guys all a good shred these days....find some powder!

Newspaper Article, La Clusaz injuries...

Hey Everyone,

My local newspaper just published a story about the rising freerider Eric Zeller. :D
I meet up couple days ago with the editor and he was super stoked about freeriding and was super excited to bring some freeriding closer to the people around Konstanz. The local newspaper called Südkurier has a print out of more than 25.000 copies a day. So pretty sick for sure! ;D

Unfortunately the article is in german. ;) But you can find it here anyways... : http://www.suedkurier.de/sport/regionalsport/bodensee_west/art2783,4673380

I also was on my way to La Clusaz the first stopp of the this years Freeride World Qualifier Tour, all in all really disapointing, I had to get back in my car after reinjunring my right ankle at some warm up runs yesterday. So the competition is going to be held without my presence. I had injured my ankle 10 days ago while riding with the snowsick crew in tirol. I was hoping and praying that the time to the contest will be enough to recover. I was working really hard to start in La Clusaz so it seems to be a little set back but injuries happen and everybody has to deal with it I guess! :D

I´ll be back stronger and better and for sure healthier. ;)

see you guys soon.
Just klick back for more informations....

Happy New Year - Powder?

Hello Guys,

first of all I wish everybody a super exciting year 2011. May all your dreams and goals come true. If you start waking up everyday telling yourself today is going to be a good day, you find yourself having really good days, even when there are sometimes other days... :D

So I guess this was my little statement to all of you for 2011!

The last day of the year 2010 was an epic one for sure. I went to Hochfügen, Austria with my friend Steffen Hürter. No snow has fallen in 7 days and the forecast wasn´t looking better so that we weren´t really excited about having a good at all, but it turned out really nicley. We hiked up some ridges and found an untouched bowl, ridicoulous! :D So we pretty much spent the wohle day in there! We weren´t too excited about filming but here is a little edit about it.

Now I am on my way to Rosenheim to see my buddy Gex Rathfelder from the SOS ALPS TEAM. We might catch up with the Snowsick crew in Innsbruck.
I am kinda getting really excited about the first contest in La clusaz on the 15th of January. I put some news up as soon as possible after the event.

Find some pow pow....cheers!
